Some Texas high schoolers have created an app to streamline food distributions to ease food insecurity and cut food waste.
FoodNex connects businesses with extra food to hunger assistance organizations like food pantries and food banks.
It was a summer project seniors Ben Peckham, Akhil Peddikuppa and Dat Tran created on their own time – with a graduate of their school – Vedant Tapiavala.
They hope their app helps ease the struggle for others.
