Congratulations to students at the University at Albany for their first-place design in the 2023 CREATE symposium.
The competition was between college engineering students throughout the state who teamed up with organizations that are members of the New York State Industries for the Disabled.
The two parties partnered together to create inventions that assisted people with disabilities.
The inventions were judged by community business leaders who evaluated and scored the projects.
There were 10 inventions this year from five colleges and six organizations. This was their ninth annual competition.
UAlbany students partnered with the Center for Disability Services to create an automated paper ream opener. They will receive $15,000 in prize money.
