Experts worry A.I. could make savvy scammers even better at tricking you

There's concern that we'll start to see scammers using AI to trick us in all sorts of ways that we've never seen before.

Human history is full of amazing technological advancements and tools that have been used to make our lives better over the years.

Perhaps nothing quite illustrates the rapid growth of our technology quite like humans going from a very first flight in 1903 to landing a man on the moon – all in the span of 66 years.

Today, our breakthroughs in computer technology have come so far that our own machines can now not just think like us, but also look and speak like us. All of us.

Now we might start to see one of our biggest advancements used against us – artificial intelligence.

In this new year, law enforcement is more concerned than ever that we will start to see scammers use AI to trick us in all sorts of ways we’ve never experienced before.

One of the more chilling things an expert told NewsChannel 13 AI can do is re-create a nearly identical copy of your voice by just listening to a few samples of you speaking.

We might be posting on Facebook or Instagram things like Christmas videos showing everyone what we just got for Christmas. That voice sample could then be used against your family and friends.

Luckily for all of us, authorities aren’t seeing AI scams widespread just yet. However, experts worry this could be the calm before the storm.
