19-year-old Halfmoon man facing charges from two incidents within the last month

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Caleb S. DeJong, 19, of Halfmoon in connection to a larceny that happened on October 26 in Halfmoon.

Officials say investigation into the larceny from October culminated with the arrest of DeJong that happened on November 7 for stealing two vehicles from a business in Halfmoon.

The Sheriff’s Office says they got a call for an inactive larceny on October 26 at 1:04 p.m., with the initial report from a person locating an ATV on their property. Investigation determined the ATV was stolen.

DeJong is accused of stealing an ATV valued in excess of $3,000 from GT Toyz, and damaging property belonging to the business during the larceny in an amount exceeding $250, said police.

Authorities say he is also accused of possessing a truck that had been reported stolen out of Albany that was allegedly used in the larceny, which the truck’s value exceeded $3,000.

DeJong was charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and third-degree criminal mischief, said the Sheriff’s Office.

He was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and released to pretrial services pending further proceedings.
