3-year-old girl who died in Corinth identified
The little girl died Wednesday, February 19. The investigation into her death continues. CPS is involved, and officials say there’s an order of protection for her four surviving brothers and sisters.
The obituary for three-year-old Joycelynn Dylewski of Corinth posted by the Densmore Funeral Home says she loved to sing and dance with her siblings, and to play in the snow and be outside.
On Wednesday, EMS was called to a home on Main Street in Corinth for a report of a child not breathing.
Investigators continue to look into the death of the three-year-old.
“It’s currently still under investigation,” said Saratoga County Undersheriff Jeffrey Brown. “We do not have a death certificate for the deceased child yet. We will once the toxicology report comes back, and then we’ll have a better idea of where the investigation is going to go at that point.”
As NewsChannel 13 previously reported, her parents, Samantha E. Dylewski, 32, and Matthew J. Dylewski, 33, were arrested on Friday.
In what officials called an update on the child death investigation, they said the couple is each facing five counts of endangering the welfare of a child in connection with five children, including Joycelynn.
“These charges are due to the mental and moral welfare of how the children were being taken care of at the home by the parents,” said Undersheriff Brown. “There are several other children in the home and the charges are applicable to all of the children who were at the home.”
He said the four siblings have been removed and are with family.
“The children– there’s an order of protection in place from the court so the children are currently not with the parents.”
Calling hours for Joycelynn are Thursday afternoon.
