SARATOGA SPRINGS – State and federal governments are making $4.2 million worth of improvements to the Spa State Park.

They broke ground Tuesday on changes to Roosevelt Drive.

That’s the area that runs near those big brick arcades near the Hall of Springs and Spa Little Theater. They’re adding a pedestrian and bicycle walkway, so people don’t have to walk or bike on the busy road.

They’re building a large circular patio as a welcoming place to kick-off exploration of the park.

They also plan to add more parking and more electric vehicle charging, and improve storm water management to improve trout habitat in the Geyser Creek.
