52-year-old man arrested in connection to Malta stabbing

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested another person in connection to the stabbing incident that happened in Malta on February 19.

Bradley W. Crannell, 52, of Malta was arrested on Saturday on a warrant from the Malta Town Court.

He is accused of violating an order of protection by shoving the protected party, said the Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say Crannell is also accused of acting in a manner likely harmful to the mental and moral welfare of a child less than 17 years old, by engaging in this behavior with the child present.

Officials add he is also accused of stealing the victim’s cell phone.

Crannel has been charged with the following:

  • First-degree criminal contempt
  • Second-degree harassment
  • Petit larceny
  • Endangering the welfare of a child

He was arraigned in Malta Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
