How do you rebuild a community plagued with violence? That’s what Frank Scavio, the owner of Paesan’s Pizza in Albany’s Pine Hills neighborhood, is trying to figure out. Scavio, along with Pastors on Patrol, hosted a meeting to address the violence
His pizza shop has been in the neighborhood for 30 years.
Scavio is revamping his business model to address the uptick in crime. All ideas are welcome, he said.
Scavio has partnered with Pastors on Patrol. For the second time this year, they discussed ways they can have a stronger impact in the community.
Surveillance video from August shows how bad the violence in this area can be, but Scavio says that’s just one incident.
He says the violence has gotten so bad his employees don’t feel safe working at night and that’s something Scavio and Pastors on Patrol want to change.
