The Albany County Legislature has approved extending hours for wine and liquor sales during the holiday season.

The stores will be able to stay open until 11 p.m. from Nov. 15 to Jan. 7 each season instead of the normal 9 p.m. closing time. They will also be able to open an hour earlier, at 8 a.m.

It’s not a mandate, the county said, just an option for stores.
