As the Albany FireWolves get ready to host a playoff game for the first time in franchise history, the commissioner of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) is impressed by such a dramatic turn-around from last season.

The FireWolves went from a three-win team last year to the number three seed in this year’s postseason.

An infusion of rookie talent has helped carry Albany to an 11 and 7 record.

The FireWolves are the youngest team in the league.

The health of the sport overall is strong as this season’s total attendance across the NLL is the second highest in the 37-year history of the league.
