Albany man admits to giving gun to teen who fatally shot himself
An Albany man has admitted to giving a gun to a 14-year-old boy who accidentally shot and killed himself.
Ellazar Williams pleaded guilty in Albany County Court on Friday to criminally negligent homicide. As part of a plea agreement, he will receive a sentence of 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.
Williams was arrested after police said he gave the weapon to a teen at New Hope Terrace. The teen died on Jan. 26.
Williams will be sentenced on July 12.
