Albany man arrested in Second Street shooting

A 41-year-old Albany man has been charged in connection with a shooting incident on Second Street last month.
On Aug. 29 at around 5:15 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Second Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest and groin area.
The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives determined that Michael Johnson fired several shots from a handgun at the victim which caused him to sustain his injury.
Johnson has been charged with one count each of attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was arraigned Tuesday in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to Albany County Jail.
