Albany man charged after shooting on Second Avenue

A 33-year-old Albany man has been charged in connection with a domestic-related shooting on Tuesday. Officers responded to the 300 block of Second Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old man who had a gunshot to his foot, Albany Police said. Police learned that Maurice Steward allegedly was involved in a fight with people in the home.

Police learned that Maurice Steward, 33, was allegedly involved in a fight at the home, they said. Steward left and returned a short time later with a gun. He was arrested in the 400 block of Myrtle Avenue.

Steward was charged with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Wednesday.
