Albany man faces weapons charges after traffic stop
Police arrested an Albany man on weapons charges after a traffic stop Monday.
Deputies stopped a vehicle in the area of North Lake Avenue and Bradford Street just before 5 p.m. for a traffic violation. Kyrin L. Armstead, 18, allegedly had a Glock 9mm semiautomatic handgun that was equipped with an extended magazine and loaded with 39 rounds of ammunition, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
Armstead was not allowed to own the gun.
He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He was transported to Albany County Jail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Tuesday.
