Albany Med Health System must now pay $24,000 to nurses who New York State Attorney General Letitia James says were taken advantage of by the hospital.

James says Albany Med included an illegal fee in employment contracts that forced several nurses to pay the hospital thousands of dollars after they resigned or were fired.

The $24,000 will go to eight nurses forced to pay the fee.

Last year, the hospital had to pay $90,000 to seven employees who paid a similar fee.
