Albany PD investigate Saturday afternoon shooting near Madison Ave and Trinity Place

Albany Police responded to the area of Madison Avenue and Trinity Place for reports of a shooting on Saturday around 4:45 p.m., leaving one person injured.

Police discovered upon arrival that a 27-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his buttocks was self-transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say preliminarily, the shooting stemmed from an isolated incident between the victim and a group of individuals.

Albany Police Department’s Emergency Service Team was deployed after police discovered the group of individuals had entered a residence on the 100 block of Madison Avenue after the shooting happened.

Within the residence, the Service Team executed a search warrant and determined the residence was vacant.

Authorities searched the residence and found a quantity of marijuana, a quantity of pills, and other items of evidentiary value.
