Police have released the name of an Albany man charged in a stabbing on Tuesday.

John Oliver, 49, is accused of stabbing a 33-year-old man on Central Avenue near Robin Street. The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center is expected to be OK.

Police chased down Oliver near the scene.

He is being charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, and was sent to Albany County Jail.
