Brittany Hawkins was charged with second-degree murder in the Oct. 31 death of Daquan Phillips.
Hawkins hit Phillips on purpose, then crashed into an apartment, investigators said. The two were arguing before the assault, investigators said.
The manslaughter plea is in place of the murder charge Hawkins would have faced if the case went to trial.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 16, when she faces 25 years in prison. She’ll remain in jail until then.
