The next phase for building a new pool in Lincoln Park in Albany is finally underway.

With golden sledgehammers in hand, Mayor Kathy Sheehan joined other local leaders today to begin the removal of the current pool.

The new pool is expected to feature a splash pad, water slide, playground and plenty of lanes for swimming.

It’s expected to open in summer 2025, leaders said.
