The independent cinema on Madison Avenue in Albany is having its last showing this Sunday.
The theater is up for sale.
The Spectrum Theatre on Delaware Avenue in Albany just closed on Thursday.
Mayor Kathy Sheehan says she’s looking for new operators to run both theaters.
“I imagine that I will be hearing from a number of individuals who want to reopen the Madison Theatre with a little bit of a different twist to it, reopen the Spectrum Theatre, and we’re going to do what we can to make those ventures successful,” said Sheehan.
The last movie shown at the Madison will be “Madame Web” at 7:35 Sunday night.
