The Aldi on Central Avenue in Colonie passed its sanitary re-inspection after failing the first one for not properly storing hundreds of pounds of products. That included milk, cheese, and other perishable foods.
13Investigates was the first to tell you a complaint about improper food storage led the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets to inspect the grocery store in April.
Inspectors found what they call a critical deficiency, and ordered Aldi to throw out 295 pounds of food.
The reinspection happened on June 10. There were no critical deficiencies found at the Aldi this time, but an inspector found four general deficiencies. This means the inspector found issues that need to be corrected soon but are not considered pressing problems.

- The walk-in freezer is not properly maintained as follows: Interior surfaces are noted to have an accumulation of ice and door gaskets are in disrepair. Meat walk-in cooler is not properly maintained as follows: fan guards noted dust laden.
- Shelves displaying macaroni and rice in the retail area are noted to have an accumulation of dried residues.
