Altamont home builder charged with fraud

A home builder from Altamont is accused of fraud in New Scotland, Altamont and Bethlehem.

Aaron Godlewski, 31, was arrested after he allegedly issued a bad check to a contractor.

The investigation found Godlewski did not pay several subcontractors, police said.

Godlewski knowingly wrote a check from an account with insufficient funds, investigators said.

He is now charged with grand larceny, scheme to defraud, issuing a bad check, theft of services and petit larceny.
