Amsterdam man pleads guilty in store robberies
An Amsterdam man has admitted to robbing two Saratoga County stores in September.
Daniel P. McKay II, 40, pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court on Wednesday to grand larceny and robbery charges.
McKay was arrested on Sept. 3 after police said he threatened employees at Ben & Jerry’s with a weapon but didn’t show one. He also took cash from the register and fled from the store, police said. McKay then committed another robbery at the Stewart’s Shops on Route 9 in Malta.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 3.
