4 people jump from windows fleeing Troy fire

Four people were sent to the hospital after a fire broke out in a Troy apartment building.
The fire happened Monday a little after 8 p.m. at the Troy Gardens Apartments.
Assistant Fire Chief Rich Cellucci says before arriving on the scene, they got reports that people had jumped from the building to escaped the fire. When firefighters got there, they saw four people on the lawn – three adults and one child. Those four were immediately sent to the hospital for a full evaluation.
Residents in the apartment complex say they saw smoke coming out of the laundry room, and things escalated from there.
Fire crews were able to put out the fire quickly. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

There is no word yet on the victims’ conditions, or what started the fire.
