Bethlehem planning for option of remote learning

Bethlehem Central School District is preparing to provide an option for virtual schooling in the wake of five threats of violence received by the school district.

Superintendent Jody Monroe said the classrooms are not currently configured for remote learning, so that option was not available this week.

“In the event a hybrid approach is offered, updates will be communicated to families on a day-by-day basis,” she said in a news conference on Friday afternoon to discuss the threats.

Monroe commended the staff on what has been a challenging week.

“Our teachers and administrators have gone above and beyond to maintain a sense of safety and normalcy in the classroom,” she said.
