Boil water advisory in effect for all of Mechanicville

MECHANICVILLE – A boil water advisory is in effect for the city of Mechanicville after a water main break.

The break happened Monday afternoon on Fourth Avenue between Broadway and Chestnut Street.

Officials needed to shut off one of the main valves to the city to relieve water pressure so that crews could find the break, impacting about 5,000 residents.

Crews worked overnight Monday into Tuesday on repairs, which are now finished.

There is no word yet on when the boil water advisory is expected to be lifted.
