SAND LAKE – It’s been just over a year since major flooding wreaked havoc on a number of homes and bridges in Rensselaer County. The cleanup continues.
Neighbors say last year’s storm is something that they will never forget. Taborton Road was one of the hardest areas hit. Neighbors on that road say their basements flooded and say the road was completely covered in water.
NewsChannel 13 was there the day after the storm, and part of Taborton Road wasn’t passable. The culverts and side walls under the bridge were destroyed. Nearby businesses suffered damage as well.
Construction crews worked for months to install a temporary bridge. The temporary bridge will be replaced by a permanent bridge this fall.
