A Clifton Park was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for driving drunk and causing a crash in Bethlehem that killed a woman.

This crash happened on May 1 just before 7 a.m. Matthew Monthie, 29, crossed the center line on Route 85 in Slingerlands and hit another car head on.

The driver of the other car was Shawna Marzahl. She was 53 years old and lived in Selkirk.

Monthie pleaded guilty in January to second-degree manslaughter and DWI.

He was sentenced in Albany County Court on Tuesday to 3 1/3 to 10 years on the manslaughter and one year for DWI, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office. The sentences will run concurrently.

Her husband, Dennis Marzahl gave a victim impact statement in court.
