Duanesburg man convicted of killing wife, son
Nelson Patino convicted of murder in killing wife and son,
A Schenectady County jury has convicted a Duanesburg man of killing his wife and 5-year-old son back in 2021.
Nelson Patino was found guilty of murder charges for stabbing his wife and 5-year-old son to death in his home in December 2021. His 2-year-old son survived.
Patino’s attorney attempted to argue that a COVID infection caused his client to commit both murders. He says the infection caused Patino to enter a state of psychosis, which led to both of the killings.
Patino is facing life in prison without parole.
