President Donald Trump has set the global economy on a roller coaster, according to U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko.

Tonko was in Albany on Friday, discussing what he calls the president’s reckless economic maneuvers and devastating cuts.

He said President Trump’s chaotic moves on tariffs and devastating federal cuts are damaging our economy, and raising costs for families right here in the Capital Region.

“Let’s be clear. There is no grand strategy here. The global economy and my constituents’ livelihoods are on a roller coaster ride due to the whims of just one individual — Donald Trump,” Tonko said.

Tonko said Congress needs to reassert its constitutional authority and stop these what he calls reckless actions before the damage to our economy becomes irreparable.
