Construction is now underway on the region’s first mobility center.
CDTA calls it a first of its kind transit center.
The Gateway Mobility Center will be located next to Gateway Plaza Park in Schenectady.
It will have access to 10 transit routes and will include new sidewalks with snow and ice melt systems, upgraded traffic signals and a new enclosed waiting area.
South Church Street will be closed until July 28.
Construction will also affect traffic on State Street in June and July.
