Workers on Thursday discovered the remnants of an old burial site during construction on South Street in Glens Falls.

Police said they located a few human bones that appear to be from the old cemetery and from one grave site.

Historical records and the city’s historian noted that the cemetery was there until about 1850, and it was then moved to Bay Street.

The state’s archaeologist has been contacted, according to police, and they likely will be handling it further

There is no criminal activity associated with these bones at this time.
