Court documents obtained by NewsChannel 13 paint a disturbing picture of the murder of a Schenectady woman allegedly at the hands of an ex-partner.

Rance White, 52, is accused of stabbing Amanda Jaikaran, 38, to death on March 14.

The stabbing happened at a home on 818 Lincoln Ave. Jaikaran was stabbed repeatedly in the neck, chest, arms and hands, according to court documents.

Police responded to the scene just before 8 p.m. Jaikaran was treated on scene and later died at Ellis Hospital.

White also allegedly cut Jaikaran’s sister in the arm, when she was trying to stop White from stabbing Jaikaran, court documents said.

White has been charged with second-degree murder, second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He has a previous felony conviction.

White was scheduled to be in Schenectady City Court on Thursday, but that did not happen as the DA’s Office said the grand jury has acted, and the matter is being transferred to Schenectady County Court.

Family and friends are gathering at the site where Jaikaran was killed for a vigil on Friday at 8 p.m.
