Court in Vermont deciding if sexual assault suspect should go home during trial
A court in Bennington, Vermont is deciding whether to let an 18-year-old man go home or send him to prison as his trial continues.
Brodie Gallant is facing four possible life sentences for allegedly sexually assaulting someone under 18, the Bennington Banner reported.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges at his arraignment.
He appeared in court virtually, as he is currently being held in general population prison.
The court is weighing a statute that would allow Gallant to return home, as long as he doesn’t pose a serious threat to the community.
