DOCCS extends overtime rates after recent unsanctioned prison strikes
The state Department of Corrections is extending its increased overtime rates through next month.

DOCCS needs the staffing, so they said employees working overtime will continue to earn two and a half times their regular rate until May 9.
The overtime rate was first enacted during the unsanctioned correction officer strike and was set to expire on Wednesday. DOCCS says it is extending the rate as it recovers from the prison strike.
More than 2,000 prison staff were fired when the statewide strike ended in March
