Documents shed light on alleged cocaine distribution ring involving Pittsfield High dean
New documents shed light on the arrest of the Pittsfield High School dean.
As NewsChannel 13 reported on Wednesday, Lavante Wiggins, 30, was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. He organized cocaine distribution in Pittsfield, investigators said.
Theodore “Monty” Warren, 42, was also arrested. He’s accused of being a runner for Wiggins, and faces similar charges.
The documents reveal that Wiggins had been under investigation since March, but evidence found shows drug activity going back to 2021.
Investigators said they have a cooperating witness who worked with Wiggins. They gave investigators Wiggins’ phone number, locations of the alleged crimes and the operation.
The witness also agreed to wear a wire while doing a transaction with Wiggins, investigators said. That wire recorded Wiggins and Warren working together to help with a transaction, investigators said.
The witness was later able to give investigators cocaine he received from Warren, they said.
If convicted, Wiggins and Warren each face up to 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine and a lifetime of supervised release.
Wiggins is now on administrative leave, the district said.
