Emergency leak prompts water shut off, road closure in Albany
Water in parts of Albany was shut off Tuesday, July 30, in the evening due to an emergency leak at 399 State Street, the water department said. Parts of Henry Johnson Boulevard, State Street and Lark Street were without water.
Madison Ave. between Grand and South Pearl Streets was closed while crews worked on repairing the leak.
NewsChannel 13 had originally reported the water had been shut off on Wednesday morning, July 31, based on the Albany Water Department’s Facebook page. But, Albany Water Commissioner Joe Coffey said due to a fault with their alert system, the message was posted late.
