Some residents evacuated from Harbour Point Apartments in Troy last week thought they would be able to move back in on Monday. However, that still hasn’t happened yet.
Dozens of units were slapped with bright green paper on the door last week, ordering people to leave immediately.
There were worries about rain running off the rooftops, seeping in behind the bricks, and separating the brick facades from the building structure. In turn, that raised fears residents could be hit by falling bricks, including small children.
Asset manager Zevi Katz – tells NewsChannel 13 they’re working with the city and trying to get people in their homes as soon as possible, but he says he can’t put a definitive date on that yet.
When the owners resolve the safety issues, and then have another inspection of the building, residents can move in.
