Flare gun discharged in armed robbery in Troy
TROY, N.Y. (WNYT) – Food Circus in North Troy was the site of an armed robbery Saturday afternoon.
Troy Police said they responded to the store on 112th street after a report of a robbery.
In video obtained by NewsChannel 13, one can see the moment the man walks into the store, and starts throwing things at the cashier.
During the robbery, the man shot a flare gun that hit and injured a store employee.
The owner of the store said that employee is her son, and he is currently in the hospital.
“My son, they hit him with the gun over here when they were both fighting. So, his blood came out. Then, the ambulance came.”
The man has since been arrested and is currently in custody.
Albert Washington lives down the street from Food Circus and said he’s lived here for years. He was shocked that something like this happened in his own neighborhood.
“I’ve been coming here for like 12 years. I’ve never seen no incidents like this or none of that. These people are good, they are honest. So, to me this is shocking,” said Albert Washington.
