Fort Edward man arrested and charged with rape

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Zepplin S. Murphy, 40, of Fort Edward on Wednesday for sexual assault.
Police say the assault reportedly occurred at a residence on Route 9 in Moreau on Tuesday night.
Murphy is accused of engaging in forced sexual contact with a woman and using restraint against the woman.
The Sheriff’s Office says he was arrested and charged with first-degree rape and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
Murphy was arraigned in Moreau Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further action in the matter.
