A female inmate is on life support after suffering a medical event while in the Fulton County Jail.

The emergency happened early Tuesday morning, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. The woman was brought to Nathan Littauer Hospital before being transported to Albany Medical Center. She is on life support and being evaluated as an organ donor.
It is being treated as a possible drug overdose and the investigation is ongoing.

New York State has been notified.
