People here in the Capital Region are still mourning the loss of the well-known local attorney who tragically lost his life in a skiing accident at Gore Mountain Ski Area over the weekend. 

According to Kevin Colwell’s obituary, he was a longtime resident of Columbia County. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1989.

It says he was enthusiastic about adventure and the outdoors.

Colwell was an expert skier. His obituary reveals he began his skiing days while instructing at Catamount.

It says he loved traveling to new places, and that he loved to hike with his family and camp with his kids on their scouting outings.

Services will take place later this week to honor Colwell’s life.

Visitation is taking place at the Cannon Funeral Home in Albany from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.

Then on Saturday morning, a Mass of Christian Burial service is happening at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius Church in Loudonville.
