Funeral to be held Friday for former Bishop Howard Hubbard

Funeral plans for former Bishop Howard Hubbard have been announced.
They will be Friday at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road in Loudonville. Public visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with a mass to follow.
Hubbard, 84, died over the weekend after suffering a stroke.
Hubbard was the longest serving bishop in the history of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany.
He was mandated to retire in 2014, after 37 years as bishop.
Hubbard asked the Vatican last year to allow him to leave the priesthood. That request was denied.
He recently announced he had married a woman in a civil ceremony.
He was married to his wife, Jennifer Hubbard, formerly known as Jennifer Barrie, for just three weeks.
