Gov. Kathy Hochul publicly commented Tuesday on the recent arrival of migrants to the Capital Region – specifically to Rotterdam.
A group of 100,000 migrants have arrived in New York state recently. The majority are in New York City.
However, as NewsChannel 13 has been reporting, some of those busses arrived here to the Capital Region.
The guests at the Super 8 Motel in Rotterdam were kicked out to make way for the arrival of migrants.
Hochul has been in touch with the federal government every day to discuss housing and work for arriving migrants, she said.
In many cases, her office isn’t informed of the migrants’ arrival in advance, she said.
