Hike for Hope - Cody's Climb at Prospect Mountain.

Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States, but it can be prevented.

That is why an event in Lake George on Sunday is raising money and awareness for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Volunteers will be hiking on Prospect Mountain in an annual event known as Hike for Hope – Cody’s Climb.

Step-off for the walk was at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The walk will support education, advocacy, and research programs here in the Capital Region.

Cody’s Climb was started by the parents of Queensbury High School student Cody Miller, who died by suicide in 2007.

It was the first event of its kind and now, Hike for Hope events are held across the country.
