Hochul announces $51 million in grants to prevent hate crimes

More than $51 million in grants will go to organizations at risk of hate crimes.
There is funding available for more than 1,000 projects through the state’s Securing Anti-Hate Crimes Program.
This funding can also now be used to enhance an organization’s cybersecurity.
The governor also signed legislation that will strengthen investigation and reporting requirements for hate crimes which happen on college campuses.
The groups getting a portion of the grant were being notified on Tuesday.
