Hochul praises fallen soldier’s ‘courage and determination’
Gov. Kathy Hochul talked about how inspiring Chief Warrant Officer Casey Frankoski was.
Frankoski was killed earlier this month, when a military helicopter she was in crashed near the U.S.-Mexico border.
This was the first time the governor has been asked to speak at a military funeral.
She spoke about the connection she feels with Frankoski and her family.
“It is not lost on me, as the first woman to ever serve in this position, that my first funeral is a young woman, someone who also knows what it’s like to have the courage and determination to survive in a usually fairly male-dominated world. So, I feel a connection to you through that as well,” said Hochul.
She ended her remarks by thanking Casey Frankoski’s parents for giving their daughter to all of us.
