Gov. Hochul joined Sen. Schumer Thursday to sign the new “Green Chips Bill.” The bill brings new tech jobs to the state and hopes to attract leaders from across the semiconductor industry.
“You come to New York, or you rebuild in New York, you continue to invest in New York. We will welcome you with open arms. That’s what we do. We are changing the trajectory of this state by investing in the technologies of the future,” said Hochul.
“Today is a perfect example of how our teamwork at the federal and state levels work seamlessly to create the ultimate one-two punch that culminates in Upstate New York landing a knockout punch with thousands and thousands of good-paying jobs in Upstate New York,” said Schumer.
The incentives for semiconductor producers are the first of their kind to come with environmental standards.
