Hochul tying together four key proposals at Tuesday’s State of the State
Gov. Kathy Hochul will deliver the State of the State address in the State Capitol building on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Assembly chamber.
She has already announced four proposals ahead of her delivery.
One of the four focuses on consumer protection and affordability. She plans to expand New York’s Consumer Protection Law and add more regulations around “Buy Now, Pay Later” services.
The second proposal focuses on improving reading proficiency for children across the state. She plans to give state funding to training teachers in one uniform way to teach reading.
The third key point she is focusing on is combatting maternal and infant mortality rates. Proposing the first prenatal family leave policy.
The fourth proposal she has announced involves expanding access to safe swimming and minimizing preventable drownings.
