Judge denies request to lower bail for Watervliet man charged with manslaughter
A Watervliet man accused of killing a man with a pipe wrench has been denied his request for lower bail.
Cyrus J. Tetreault, 20, has been charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of Brian Miller, 53. The incident happened just before 6:30 p.m. on May 31 at the Malta Pointe Apartments in Malta.
His attorney, Kevin O’Brien, argued last week in Malta Town Court his client was defending himself after being threatened with a hatchet. His request was denied.
The case is being transferred to Saratoga County Court.
Judge Jim Murphy on Tuesday also denied the request and continued bail at $100,000 cash, $200,000 bond or $1 million partially secured bond.
